Negative Message
LETTER 2:
"Bad News" Message
The second prepared correspondence was a negative message. Since most of our W231 class would be reporting to their clients that they had not been chosen, we wrote this message first. In this case, I was able to offer more specialized service to Rusty Quill, since I have followed the company for a significant time and have artistic skills that align with their productions.

Subject: My Proposal Was Not a Finalist + Next Steps
Dear Anil Godigamuwe:
The class has voted, and my proposal on Rusty Quill’s behalf was not a finalist. Each student in our 25-member class reached out to a community partner and pitched them to the class today, using a slide presentation to make a brief (60-75 second) proposal. I have attached my slideshow if you wish to see it.
Next Steps: My Availability
While only the five businesses chosen by the class will receive recommendation reports, I would be happy to offer my individual services to Rusty Quill
-
As an intern
-
As a writer
-
As a composer
I have been studying classical piano for eleven years, writing for four or five years, and composing music for two years.
Although the recommendation report opportunity didn’t pan out, I hope we can work together in the future!
Best wishes,
Tony
